Anyway I would think the machines be simple, and not very complex, something you would call mindless at times because you want to spend another coin just to beat or try again. More likely it will be games simple enough to beat or challenging enough to survive. So over all I would think the games would be more likely something that isn't multiplayer, as each machine implies that, just for being an arcade machine with no twin hub. Quite a few of those games are fun to play still. After all it is not what we would think, it is what the people would be thinking when they made it. The starbound one could be something like Gyrus or those games you fly through a level shooting things with your ship. So if the green one you mention is like that, there would have to be a story to complete and then end when you beat it. I have always thought arcade machines Something you can beat. After all they are suppose to take quarters or money in general to play. What do you guys think that these kinds of arcade games, if they're made interactable, would play like? Also, is there a particular kind of arcade game that you'd like to see in Starbound, like, say, a bullet hell run-and-gun game, a racing game, or a flight simulation game to name a few?įree roam in an arcade machine? Never seen any that were a sandbox. Perhaps this plays like a side-scrolling shoot-em-up game like "Galaga", "Gradius", "Raiden", or "Ikaruga" to name a few? Generic Arcade Machine : "Super Tralgar Blaster 2" I think that this would play alot like a tower defense game like "Plants vs Zombies", or "Orcs Must Die!" Yellow Arcade Machine : "Zombie Banana Mansion Honestly though, what would happen if you tried to play it while you're already playing it (as mind-blowing and confusing as it may sound)? Would the game graphics and sound effects change to a more retro style, like when you try to play a game inside "Scribblenauts Unlimited"? I'm picturing a 2D platforming game, not unlike "Super Mario Bros". Red Arcade Machine : "Cool Wizard Island" Anyone else thinking of the recent survival-horror point-and-click game "Five Nights At Freddy's"? Purple Arcade Machine : "Screaming Fashion Agent" Perhaps this plays similarly to the "Game & Watch" game called "Chef"? Orange Arcade Machine : "Sleazy Burger Heroes" I'm picturing a free-roaming sandbox game like "Grand Theft Auto" or "Saints Row", only more whimsical. Green Arcade Machine : "Stylish Thief Wasteland" Obviously, this would probably play like a "Dance-Dance Revolution" game. maybe it would play similarly to a "Harvest Moon" game? Here's what I'd imagine each game would play like:īlue Arcade Machine : "Psychedelic Rodeo Melee" That got me thinking about what the other arcade games would've played like if they were as interactive as that MazeBound arcade machine. In Upbeat Giraffe, we get this arcade machine in the Outpost that plays a simple game called MazeBound.
